Massive Earthquake Strikes Japan

One of the largest earthquakes in recorded history shook Japan today. It registered 8.9 on the Richter Scale. The earthquake caused aftershocks and tsunamis, one of which destroyed a northeastern coastal town. Many lives have been lost and many people have no way home, as train service has stopped. Narita Airport has closed. There will be a lot of help needed to repair all of the damage from this natural disaster.

Please help the people in Japan through your prayers, emotional support, and by volunteering to help if you are able. The Japan-America Society of Indiana is setting up an earthquake relief fund that will be available to accept donations next week. Donations can be made through the Japan-America Society of Indiana website at http://www.japanindiana.org. All donations will be transferred to appropriate relief organizations in the affected regions.
